January Wrap-Up: Navigating College Recruitment

Relying on trusted resources can help ease the stress of college recruiting.

I hope you and your family thoroughly enjoyed the winter break and your holidays included some quality downtime.

I was pleased to have the opportunity to coach a few clinics and private lessons during the break (here are some photos). Getting in a few extra training sessions can have a big impact on players’ readiness for spring.

Now that spring season is underway, it’s time to shift our focus to making the most of the months ahead. Rather than taking your foot off the gas once your college applications have been submitted, try prioritizing these three strategies to keep you sharp for college recruiting.

If you’ve ever felt a pang of jealousy over a teammate getting recruited before you, here are four suggestions to help you cope with those difficult feelings.

Regardless of where you are on the recruiting path, don’t fret. Even late soccer bloomers can enjoy a truly rewarding college soccer experience.

Speaking of the rewards of being an athlete, a recent study found athletes have healthier brains than others.

If you’re planning to be in Charlotte or Miami this spring, you’re welcome to register for my Training Academy, where I’ll be preparing small groups of players for college competition. Players who register with code SPRING50 before February 1st will receive $50 off their registration.

On April 18th and 19th I will be hosting two exclusive ID camps in Charlotte – one for girls and one for boys. We’re offering a unique half-day format where 30 players interact with dozens of college coaches and learn what it takes to play at the next level. The deadline for players to submit an application is March 1st. You can view the list of coaches who participated in our last ID camp here.

I hope to see you soon!
