Keep Your Recruiting Momentum Going

Players who sit still during the downtime will not stand out when coaches make decisions.

As soccer games and recruiting events are being cancelled and postponed, many student-athletes are worried that covid-19 will bring their recruiting opportunities to a halt. On the contrary, when it comes to your recruiting process, there are many activities you can – and should – work on intensely during the hiatus.

College recruiting is certain to become increasingly difficult for coaches in the months ahead. Decisions will need to be made quickly. Only the athletes who work hard during the downtime will be ready to stand out when ID clinics and tournaments resume. Now is not the time to sit still or lose focus!

To help ensure you're sharp, fit and strong when you're back on the pitch, in the coming weeks I will be posting essential recruiting advice for you on my blog.

Here’s a link to the first post, with 4 ways you can leverage game reviews to enhance your recruitability.

Future articles will focus on how (and when) to communicate with coaches during the NCAA dead period, what you can do on your own to stay strong and fit, how to handle college visits when campuses are closed, strategies to boost your mental game, and more. I hope you find the information useful – and that you make an effort to apply my advice.

For members of my recruiting program: please remember that your recruiting advisors are available to assist you with outreach to coaches, create a personal at-home development plan, and get you ready to impress when in-person recruiting resumes. Now more than ever, you should rely on your advisor to help you stand out from the competition.

My staff and I are also here to offer players and parents mental and emotional support during this stressful time. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of help in that regard.
